Life after Happy Landings

It is always nice to receive photos and stories about how our animals are getting on after being re-homed. Some of our success stories are featured on this page...

Chinnie

Chinnie was one of 4 kittens found dumped under a hedge on a cold wet day at the end of the autumn when they were about 6 weeks old. Presumably they were too late for the summer rush and too early for Christmas presents!

They were all in a sorry state and in fairly urgent need of worming and de-fleaing as well as proper food and warmth. As we were full at the centre they went strqight into a foster home where they worked on re decorating the spare room!

Now in a lovely home, Chinnie has evidently settled in beautfully! I suspect this was taken after the attck on the Christmas tree had exhausted her!

Bobbin

We all think Bobbin is brill - and his owners too! Adopted a few years ago now, Bobbin has presented some challenges to his long suffering adopters who have worked hard to turn him around and make him super-confident super dog!

Here he is winning most improved cup at his agility class with his proud mum. Well done you!

Maggie

Maggie came to us as a juvenile when her owner could no longer cope with the demands of a young family and the exercise requirements of this active and intelligent collie cross. She has found a perfect match in her home and loves her new life of hill walking, beeches, running and swimming.

She is top of the class in her doggy training classes.

Millie & Dexter

This lovely pair of dogs are from very different backgrounds but got on well in kennels. When their adopters came looking for a small dog they couldn`t choose between these two so took them for a long walk and a pub lunch to get to know them better.

By the time they returned the deal was clinched - they adopted them both! Both dogs are doing really well in training classes and loving their newly shared, active lifestyle. Millie is perhaps slightly more of a "working progress" but hasn`t had the same positive experinces as Dexter.

With Dexter`s to help guide her, as well as her wonderful owners, she is bound to be a success! Well done everyone.

Leah

Leah's new owners are thrilled with her. When she was with us she was underweight and unsure about the world. She didn't know what to make of other dogs or how to interact with them. But now she is on the beach everyday making lots of friends.

Her favourite toy is a plant pot. It is clear that she is very happy and settled as she has put on weight and is looking in top condition.

Max

Max was living in a crowded house with three other dogs, three cats and countless rodents ...the rental agreement was "No Pets"! He came to us essentially nice natured but quite confused, and with a strong terrier desire to rule the world.

Luckily he was adopted by a very experienced couple and their existing group of rescue dogs where he has had some help to learn that it is more fun to share than to rule!

Pickle and Chutney

These 2 were brought in to us as they were part of an unwanted litter and clearly had not really been handled. It didn't take long for them to have people interested in them, despite their shy temperaments.

They now have a lovely home and a new playmate who`s very protective and enjoys showing them the ropes. They are very cheeky and have taken a real liking to the boot rack! Perfect place for a quick snooze!

Pringle and Quaver

Pringle and Quaver were brought into us because their Mum was a stray who gave birth at a waste centre. They got their names because they were living off crisps. When the family came in we found that the kittens had extra toes however this didn't worry them.

Pringle and Quaver found a lovely home together and are now causing no end of mischief but are very loved, and as you can see from the photo love each other very much as well.

Bolly & Acorn

A match made in heaven! No more sitting in a hutch getting bored for this pair, they now have a fabulous multi level sleeping and activity hutch, with a big courtyard to explore and the kitchen to sneak into!

The rabbits had not met before they came to us, having been made to live in solitary confinement, but it didn`t take them long to bond.

Moby

Moby was in rescue as a puppy, an unwanted youngster in need of training and guidance.

A lovely lad, he needed an active home that would enjoy lots of exercise and training with him. Moby has a new name to go with his new life and has put his difficult start behind him.

Now Archie, he has definitely landed on his feet - this is him on a walking holiday in Scotland.
